Florilègio n. [from Renaissance Latin florilegium, combination of Latin flos floris ‘flower’ and theme of legĕre ‘to seize’, from the Greek ἀνθολογία]. – Selection of works or excerpts from works of one or more writers collected in a volume; anthology: of lyric poets of the sixteenth century; of Orlando Furioso; romantic.
The Florilège Manifesto
Florilège is a word that originated a few centuries ago and has a very specific meaning: the collection of flowers. It derives from the union of two evocative Latin terms: floris ‘flowers’ and legère ‘to pick’. After the 18th century, it was endowed with a new meaning, that of ‘anthology’, i.e. the selection of precious works and pieces by selected artists.
This is why Florilège de Vie sees itself as a treasure chest, a precious container magically filled with living and intense experiences – not just Collections, but an entire world that communicates elegance, care, excellence and sincerity.
